Project

The CogniQuest project comes from a desire to help students develop their metacognitive skills with the active contribution of teachers and education professionals. Metacognition involves reflecting on and monitoring one’s learning process, which is crucial for effective learning and critical thinking. By equipping students with metacognitive strategies, we empower them to become independent learners, ultimately enhancing their academic performance and well-being.

Research shows that teaching metacognition in the classroom positively affects student achievement and supports key competencies established by the Council of the European Union. This project will provide teachers with ready-to-use resources and materials, helping them integrate metacognitive strategies into their classrooms. Teachers will play a key role in facilitating the development of these skills, ensuring that students can discover their own learning methods and routines.

The resources of the project encompass:

  • 4 educational guides for practitioners,
  • 10 adventure homework books for students,
  • and a comprehensive toolkit with 60 reflection tools and methods.

By understanding and valuing different ways of learning, students can build self-confidence and reduce the risk of early school leaving. This approach not only improves academic outcomes but also prepares students for future success in a rapidly changing labor market.

By integrating metacognitive strategies into education, we aim to increase inclusion and accessibility in the acquisition of learning-to-learn skills.
